Shining Eminence

Lurking in the shadows seems beneath the dignity of this freshwater predator-the Muskelunge. His impressive size & dental daggers clearly place this guy on the list of someone to look out for if you are a mere perch. Smaller species should clearly be taught this in the elementary level of "fish school". But lurk he does, & lunging forward, clamps those teeth-lined jaws on fish & even an unsuspecting duckling or a muskrat or two, swallowing them head first. Centuries of breeding have honed the skills & size of this behemoth to rule underwater. Sought by sport fishermen hoping to coax him from his lair with high test line & fancy lures for the fish story of a lifetime, he may or may not cooperate. After all, they may intrude, but may never encounter his Shining Eminence.
