Into the Wind

Atop a craggy tree, extraordinary vision surveys the rough waters below searching for his next meal. The swaying of this ancient one does not distract the intent of his gaze. Ready to act, talons honed for the task, he waits. Full adult plumage, beautiful to behold in any weather, serves as functional armor & as the sturdy fusilage a 747 would envy in its maneuverability. He is the swift hunter of the sky, the Bald Eagle, acrobat of the air. The golden eyes dilate slightly, & in an instant he reacts: a six foot wingspan deftly lifts him off the limb, twisting towards his target, & Into the Wind.
